Elementary Information 2021-2022
Welcome to Wishing Well Elementary Schools
.Welcome to our amazing Elementary Program. We look forward to spending the year with your child as they learn and grow in our community. Please take note of the following items to be better prepared for the first day of school
What to Expect on the First Day
We will be taking strict measures to ensure our students are safe during the pandemic.
Children will be using separate doors. You must complete a daily health check prior to sending your child to school. When they arrive, their temperature will be checked and all items will be disinfected by their teacher before they enter the classroom. To reduce the amount of items travelling to and from the school, your child will be leaving their items at school except for their water bottle, lunch bag and iPad. |
The Hot Lunch program continues this year at Wishing Well Schools. This year, the cost will be $950. This does not include snacks.
Please note that in order to receive a hot lunch for your child on the first day of school, you must fill in the Hot Lunch Opt-In Form on this page before Wednesday, September 1st in order for orders to be processed. |
Homework
We encourage all parents to keep their child in our fully supervised homework rooms. We do not grade homework, but we do set it and expect our students to complete it to the highest standards. Please feel free to help your child with their homework, but do not give them the answers. Since it is not marked, it is okay for your child to get answers wrong. When answers are wrong, it lets the teacher know what needs to be reviewed the following day in lessons.
If you leave your child in our homework room and allow them to complete their homework at school, evenings can be spent together without stress, focusing on reading and simply enjoying each other's company. Setting up a good homework routine from Grade 1 is imperative to success in the later years.

After school clubs have been suspended until further notice due to the pandemic.
Communication
We have three main ways to communicate with parents during the school year.
1. Remind Text Messaging: Text messaging is an important part of our school communication. Please ensure you sign up to our Remind Text Messaging service.
2. ClassTag: ClassTag is an online newsletter and messaging board. You will be informed of nightly homework and important announcements. You will be signed up using the email we have on file. When you are sent a message, please set up your free account. It is very accessible via the app and we highly recommend you download the app.
3. Homeroom Photo Album: Homeroom is used throughout the year to share photos of our students in a safe, online forum that is 'invite only'. To access the school album for Elementary, please follow the link on ClassTag.
